Custom Orthotics
Why Custom Orthotics?
Orthotics are insole replacements, designed to be placed inside your footwear to improve pressure distribution, shock absorption and restore proper mechanics of the foot. Each of our foot orthotics are fabricated from durable, raw materials to ensure a long-life, and are custom designed to your symptoms, biomechanics and lifestyle. We offer various styles and fabrication options as every foot and lifestyle is unique. In addition, your orthotics are paired with a custom treatment plan, including home exercises to further promote your individual foot health.
What to Expect
Initial Appointment
During your first visit, in addition to your 3D foot scan, your clinician will perform a biomechanical and gait analysis. This assessment includes evaluating the soft tissues and joints of your feet, ankles, knees, hips and low back, both separately and how they work together through functional movements like walking. These assessments are crucial in determining the right custom orthotic fit and any additional treatment interventions that will benefit your lifestyle.
Follow up Fitting
Once your orthotics are ready for you to try on we will meet with you to make sure they fit in your desired shoes as well as provide instructions on when and how long to wear them for initially.
Billing and Insurance Coverage
At your first appointment, along with your appointment fee we will also collect a non-refundable deposit that goes towards the cost of your orthotics. At the follow-up/fitting appointment, you will pay your appointment fee and the remaining cost of the orthotic. You will also be given your Orthotic package that will include receipt of payment, biomechanical paperwork, proof of manufacturing and if applicable any paperwork that is required by your extended benefit plan. Your Initial and Follow Up Visit is booked with a Chiropractor and billed to you/extended benefits as a chiropractor visit.
While we are not able to direct bill extended benefit companies for custom orthotics, most benefit plans do reimburse for orthotics, but as every plan is different, it’s important to check your own extended benefit plan for the requirements for custom orthotics. As an example, the majority of the benefit plans require:
1. Medical Doctor’s prescription for orthotics that must be obtained before your
appointment
2. Confirmation that a chiropractor can dispense the custom
orthotics
Additional Orthotics
A Discount of $100 will apply to any pair of additional orthotics purchased within 6 months of the initial pair.
